South Australia – Wine Regions

ON THE GRAPEVINE IN THE ADELAIDE HILLS

Yes, we all know that bottles of wine do not magically appear on the shelves at our local wine shop, but have you ever thought about what it might be like to get in amongst the grape vines!

Spending some time here in the Adelaide Hills – a famous wine region in South Australia – we took up the opportunity to help a local wine producer (and friend) do this seasons picking.

While we spent some hours in the sun and enjoyed greatly our time away from the office, we not only connect with nature but appreciate how this agricultural product, made from just one ingredient is so much more than simply ‘a drink with our evening meal’!

Its interesting to hear wine stories from the wine producers, not only about the grape varieties and how these will mix to make the perfect bottle of wine but, we also learn how the moon tells when the grapes are ready to be picked.

I guess we learn that there is far more to ‘picking’ a nice bottle of red than simply dropping by the bottle shop on our way home from work on a Friday night!

We would like to thank – ….. – for our wine picking experience and for allowing us to get amongst the grapevines.

We would also like to recommend a visit to the Adelaide Hills region.  Here, you will find cellar door sales at some World famous vineyards, tasting experiences and, of course, scenery that will simply take your breath away.  #visitadelaide
