THE SOUPERCHEF CREATIONS FOR THE SOUP SPOON REVAMP THEME THE WORLD IN ONE KITCHEN
This travel theme rebrand at The Soup Spoon, ‘The world in One Kitchen’ is created based on the co-founder and SouperChef, Anna Lim’s love for travelling as well as a celebration to mark its 13th year anniversary.
“If you want to understand a culture, taste its soup”
- says Anna Lim (co-founder and SouperChef at The Spoon Spoon)
Anna goes on to tells us (that) this is because each one is unique, an expression of the culture that inspired it and the home cooking that created it. So, while Anna Lim has patterned The Soup Spoon rebrand, we can see a new corporate logo, a revamped website – which debut’s the SouperChef’s travel blog and the Souperholic Mobile App.
Of course, The Soup Spoon diners are in for a travel experience as they dine to the theme of The World in One Kitchen – there will be soup flavours introduced every six weeks:-
Japan Souper Inspirations from 1st September to 12th October 2015
Japan food is one of the most well loved foods in the world, best known for the freshness of their ingredients and their clean flavours. Here at The Soup Spoon, we are super stoked to collaborate with JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organisation) and the Diners World Travel to explore regions not normally visited and create new souperinspirations, true comfort foods based on travels through the regions of Kyushu, Chubu and Tohoku – a note by SouperChef Anna Lim.
During the Japan Souper Inspirations season – The Soup Spoon will serve up:-
Japanese Style Vegan Sweet Potato Curry – this recipe was perfected by Anna using paleo-friendly sweet potato chunks, combining them with made-from-scratch curry roux paste, roasted red apples and barley to make it a simple yet delicious dish. This Soup is thick and creamy, fruity, sweet and spice all at the sometime! By adding a little coconut cream, Anna adds a touch of richness and tames the warming spice. SGD$7.50 (regular), SGD$8.80 (large)
Salmon Head Tounyu Nabe – using inspirations from her travels in Japan and stories shared by her translator, Rei, Anna has created a delicious Japanese soul food that is nutritious, sweet, rounded and delicate in flavour. In fact, this Nabe is very healthy with high volumes of isoflavin, great for the prevention of many cancers, heart disease and osteoporosis. SGD$9.20 (regular), SGD$10.50 (large).
Nikujago Seiyo Wasabi Beef Stew – Traditionally, this meat and potato dish only contains a small amount of meat, which is added more for flavour than substance. It is typically simmered in a soy, mirin, and sugar broth with vegetables. On returning from her travels in Japan, Anna Lim knew she wanted to create a hearty Japanese beef stew with a twist, adding the wasabi element which she had tasted and discovered at Daio Wasabi Farm in Nagano. With a touch of cream for luxury and konnyaku for its zero-calorie miracle diet goodness, this finished dish is a hearty stew that is both sweet and savoury with the element of a nostril-clearing fiery taste! SGD$8.70 (regular), SGD$10.00 (large).
Signature soup flavours at Soup Spoon – Meatless Minestrone, Roasted Pumpkin, Tangy Tomato with Basil, Beef Goulash, Peppery Chicken Hotpot, SG Chicken & Mushroom Ragout, Tokyo Chicken Stew and Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff (from SGD$6.50 to SGD$8.50.
Soup Spoon feature 8 set menu selections – served with choice of home-brewed iced tea (lemon, hibiscus, sugar-free sakura sent or bottled water. These set menus are priced from SGD$8.50 to SGD$11.50
